05/16/09 - Plein Air Artists are Painting the Town!
Celebrated artists from across the country have been painting our beautiful environs since last week. They have gathered here once again for the 4th Annual Great Plein Air Paint-Out. And today and tomorrow are the last 2 very important and fabulous events!
Tonight is The Grand Patron's Party from 6:30-10:30pm. Artists have been asked to reserve their very best work to present to local and visiting art patrons at the wetroom gala party in the Historic Cotton Warehouse in Apalachicola. This tribute will include live music, a full bar, delicious food, and the opportunity to purchase the premium art from the paint-out. Tickets are $75 per couple, $40 each and limited! For tickets call 800-378-8419 or purchase directly from the Chamber of Commerce here in town.
And on Sunday--TOMORROW--make plans for Family Fun at "Art in the Afternoon." This family oriented final segment will feature children's art activities, entertainment, and demonstrations by select painters. This is also the LAST chance to purchase plein air art, say goodbye to the artists, and observe the artists at work. This finale, from llam-3pm, at Riverfront Part in Apalachicola is free to all!
