11/16/07 - Water Wars

Dear Friends,

If you would like to join Apalachicola's grassroots crusade in urging Governor Charlie Crist and our federal representatives to oppose the plan to cut the flow of water from Lake Lanier that supplies the Apalachicola River, important contact information is below.

The Apalachicola River has been at a minimum flow since May, and another cut in the flow of water would be a tragic mistake not only impacting the Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf fishery for years to come, but could bankrupt many hardworking Panhandle communities.

If you are interested in supporting our fragile estuary, you may email Governor Crist at [email protected], or call 850.488.7146; and Senator Bill Nelson at [email protected] or call 202.224.5274. Senator Mel Martinez can also be reached at 202.224.3041.
